If you thrive on good old-fashioned English seaside charm and unspoilt natural beauty then this is the place to come.
The town of Aldeburgh or "Owlbarrow" is the setting of a series of children's illustrated books centred on Orlando (The Marmalade Cat) written by Kathleen Hale, who spent holidays in the town. Many of the illustrations in the books feature landmarks in the town, most notably the Moot Hall.

The Town's merits are manifest, set on Suffolk's Heritage Coastline it can still boast a fine fishing fleet that departs from the shelved shingle beach every morning in order that we can enjoy the fresh fruits of the sea by lunch.
Inland there are many nature trails that lead you through reedbeds and woodlands where you catch sight of the rare Avocets or roaming deer. |
